Terms of Service
Effective [DATE — fill in before publishing]
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of the Compounds platform (the "Service"), operated by [Your Company/Legal Name] ("Company", "we", "us"). By creating an account, or by using an account created for you by a compound administrator, you ("Customer", "you") agree to these Terms. If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of an organization (a compound, property management company, or homeowners' association), you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
1. The Service
Compounds is a property and community management platform. It provides tools for maintenance request tracking (with photos, voice notes, and short videos), resident complaints, facility booking, visitor management, a staff directory and security incident log, a document repository, a vehicle registry, a dues/fee record-keeping ledger, and optional WhatsApp alerts to technicians.
The Service is not a payment processor. The dues/charges module is a record-keeping tool: a resident marks a charge as paid by manual means (bank transfer, cash, etc.) outside the Service, and an administrator confirms it inside the Service. Where a compound connects its own PayTabs account, a resident may instead pay on PayTabs' own payment page. Card and bank details are entered with PayTabs, never in the Service, and the money goes to the compound's own account. Company has no involvement in, and bears no responsibility for, the underlying payment.
2. Accounts and roles
Accounts are created by a compound administrator or by Company on the administrator's behalf, and are scoped to one compound. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You must notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
Administrators are responsible for the accuracy of resident, technician, staff, and visitor information they enter into the Service, and for obtaining any consent required under applicable law before entering another person's personal data.
3. Fees
Fees, billing frequency, and payment terms are agreed separately with each Customer at onboarding (currently invoiced and paid manually, outside the Service). Company may suspend or deactivate a compound's access for non-payment after reasonable notice.
Charges from other providers are separate and are billed directly to the Customer by that provider, for example WhatsApp message fees billed by Meta to the compound's own WhatsApp Business account, and PayTabs fees. Company does not collect them.
4. Customer data
As between Company and Customer, Customer retains all rights to the data it and its residents, technicians, and staff submit to the Service ("Customer Data"). Company processes Customer Data solely to provide, maintain, and support the Service, and will not sell it or use it to serve third-party advertising.
On termination, Customer may request an export of its Customer Data within a reasonable period; Company may thereafter delete it in accordance with our data retention practices, described in the Privacy Policy.
5. Acceptable use
- No attempting to access another compound's data or bypass account permissions.
- No uploading unlawful, infringing, or malicious content (including disguised file types).
- No interfering with the Service's normal operation (scraping, load-testing without consent, etc.).
- No using the Service to harass, defame, or unlawfully surveil residents, staff, or visitors.
- No recording or uploading photos, voice, or video of people who have not been told and where the law requires their consent.
6. Availability and support
We aim for high availability but do not currently guarantee a specific uptime percentage or response time (no formal SLA is in effect unless separately agreed in writing). Planned maintenance and third-party infrastructure incidents may cause temporary downtime. Messages sent through WhatsApp depend on Meta's service and are not guaranteed to arrive.
7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Company's total liability arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the fees paid by Customer in the three (3) months preceding the claim, and Company will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
8. Termination
Either party may terminate if the other materially breaches these Terms and fails to cure within a reasonable period after notice. Company may suspend access immediately where necessary to prevent harm to the Service or other customers (e.g. a confirmed security compromise).
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to administrators by a reasonable method (e.g. in-app notice or email). Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your governing jurisdiction, e.g. Arab Republic of Egypt], without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
